Looking for Cape Cod location inspiration but want something a little different?
Searching for a unique and still picturesque place to to pop the question or plan your engagement session? Well, Salty has got you covered. If you love Cape Cod but you're not interested in the overcrowded areas and the exclusive (expensive!) resorts do not resonate with you. Then look no further! I have all of the best kept secrets on Cape Cod right here and some will only be revealed to those who book with Salty Broad Studios! These hidden gems are likely the answers to your wildest Cape Cod dreams!
1. The Brewster Flats at Low Tide
Nothing more iconic than the ripping sand glistening in the sunset at low tide. There are several small beaches in Brewster that are "resident only." To figure out which one is right for you, schedule a consult with Christine to discuss logistics!
2. Secret Spot at Sandy Neck, Barnstable
There's a private road that dead-ends to a less traveled part of Sandy Neck and I'm not going to upset the locals by including the directions here but if you like these photos, send Christine a note, and we'll get you the info! I also recommend considering the Sandy Neck Beach colony and lighthouse, which is only reachable by special ORV trail permit or boat. I can make this happen if you don't mind jumping through the logistical hoops with me.

3. Wildflower Lane, Orleans
This cute little nook next to Skaket Beach is a secluded resident only beach where dogs are allowed! It's a great sunset spot and also spurts of grasses and soft sand.

4. Prince Dyer Road, Orleans
Rock Harbor is a very busy place where you can drive right up to the beach, snack on some takeout and watch the sunset. Across the inlet, at the end of Prince Dyer Road, is a little oasis of quiet. In early June you'll see pops of pink beach plum flowers and a practically vacant beach where dogs welcome (even off leash!) after 4pm.

6. Oregon Beach, Cotuit
Down a windy road, through a marsh, you'll find this "resident only" beach. Lots of shade and soft sand and the most perfect little pile of rocks–perfect for portraits!
7. Dune Trail or Hatches Harbor, Provincetown
If you are looking for an other-worldly location, the dune trail is one of the outermost and remote! Both of these spots are full-on hikes to be prepared to hoof it and dress appropriately!
8. Crowe's Pasture - Dennis
Not the easiest one to get to, it will require a slow bumpy ride down an un-paved road and then a mile-long trail walk out to the beach. You will be rewarded with a practically desolate beach surrounded by oyster grants. Make it even more fun and go on a trip with East Dennis Oyster Company. You can pick out your own oysters and then shuck them right there for an authentic Cape Cod picnic.
9. Scudder Lane, Barnstable
Best experienced at low tide this is a popular shellfishing nook with lovely views of Sandy Neck.
10. Cow Yard Lane, Chatham
This understated town landing is A LOT more private than Chatham's other big beaches. Parking is resident only but if you don't mind parking elsewhere and taking a little walk, you're in for a treat. If you are looking for your own idyllic corner overlooking Pleasant Bay, this is the spot.

A Place Meaningful to You
Truly the best location for your engagement session is an environment the speaks to you and your partner. Maybe you two met playing pool, collecting records or getting your game on at an arcade? Let's visit a place and capture you two experiencing it together. I have also photographed couples at a wide variety of unique locations including quaint cafes, coffee shops, dive bars, museums and in the comfort of their own home. The possibilities are endless. Let's get in touch so we can get the brainstorming process started!
