Spectacular Heritage Museums & Gardens Wedding Celebration

Justine and Patrick chose an incredible venue for their Cape Cod wedding – Heritage Museums & Gardens. Early in the planning process, Justine, who works in the NYC fashion industry, thoughtfully curated a reception with an enchanting Shakespearean vibe that accentuated all of the natural beauty the gardens have to offer in July. Mother Nature delivered an absolutely perfect weather day, sunny blue skies and mellow temperatures.

At first glance, this elegant wedding appears quite traditional but there were many unique special touches sprinkled throughout. First things first, Justine's pup, Larry, wore an adorable "Dog of Honor" bandana and stayed by her side all morning as she got ready. Instead of a Maid of Honor, Justine opted for a "Man of Honor"–her younger brother, John, who faithfully held her train throughout the day. Justine''s "something blue" was her fabulous Manolo Blahnik pumps and she adorned her hydrangea bouquet with antique charms featuring photographs of her grandparents. One of my favorite alternative additions were the "Flower Grannies" in the ceremony procession. Instead of flower girls, the bride's grandmothers scattered petals along the aisle (they far were more reliable than toddlers!)

Casual Gourmet's table design was stunning as usual with ornate blue goblets and hydrangea and lilac table runner arrangements. For the photo sessions, Justine was determined to utilize every scenic opportunity the Heritage Museum & Gardens campus and I was happy to oblige. We started off with family formal photos in the Cape Cod Hydrangea Society Display Garden and then for the couples portraits we went to the North American Hydrangea Test Garden, the Flume Fountain and the Old East Windmill, where the cocktail hour was held.

The toasts were heartfelt with tears and laughter flowing with the bubbles of the champagne. The parent dances were especially touching as Justine kicked off her dance with her brother and then different family members who were father figures took turns cutting in for a dance with the bride. From then on, the dance floor was packed nonstop. These guests wanted to dance and they did not miss a beat! In fact, the dance floor was so full that, at times, my only option was to climb on a chair and shoot from above. Now that's a good party! Congratulations, Justine and Patrick and thank you for choosing Salty Broad Studios for your wedding photography!
